Ylang Ylang is the flower of Cananga tree, a fragrant tree that originates in the Philippines. The aroma of this sensual flower helps release feelings of tension and irritation; it does so by naturally calming one’s heartbeat and breathing patterns.
The health benefits of Ylang Ylang oil can be attributed to its properties as an antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac and sedative substance. The essential oil of Ylang Ylang is extracted by steam distillation of fresh flowers.
In Thailand Ylang Ylang is still one of the most beloved flowers featured in the traditional perfume recipes and is used to make the Thai scented candle to perfume a special type of exotic Thai cookies and desserts.
